Horseback Riding Lessons

Heaven help us. Thanks to mom and dad's very generous Christmas (yes, I know it's May) present Madalyn enjoyed her first horseback riding lesson at Performance Horses Sunday afternoon. She got to ride T.K. for a whole hour, practicing horse terms, two point riding, and leading the horse. It was super cool and Madalyn has been dreaming of horses ever since. We'll start taking donations soon. ;)

Cinco de Mayo continued...

After the program at school, all of the Dual Language and bilingual kids went to the San Marcos park to continue the festivities. They cracked cascarones (confetti eggs for you gringos), hit pinatas, ate cake, and listened to the mariachi the teachers had invited. It was greatness!

VIVA Cinco de Mayo

Last Friday the Dual Language program celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a full blown program filled with singing and dancing in the Cafetorium. -I didn't make that up-it's seriously called that.- Madalyn danced with Logan, her green table mate, and cousin of Willow - the little girl she goes home with after school. (Note Logan big pimpin' with all of the girls surrounding him. =) Madalyn did a really great job and was chosen as one of four students to introduce the program - its surreal to hear her talk in Spanish, but exciting. Pics are of Maddy in her full circle dress, with her girlfriends and Logan, after the dance with Raven, Lily, Anna, Jacqueline, and with me and Jeff.

Lesley and Robert's Wedding

On April 29th Madalyn was my date for Lesley's wedding. She was so beautiful and everything was absolutely perfect. I am so excited for them, and wish them all of the best!

Weiner Dog Races

All things weinerific are in and fabulous. Last weekend Tara, Louis and Zach came down from Burly to go to the 11th annual Country Fair and Weiner Dog races in Buda. Yes, they actually race Dachshounds- several hundred of them actually. It was good times for sure. We watched several of the prelims on Saturday morning and enjoyed all of the wiener jokes which abounded everywhere. The highlight was the 'Kiss a Wiener for a Dollar' that Zach liked so much he had to do it twice. =) The two story slide was fun for the kids, including Jeff, and Beck got to sit in a real fire truck. And of course the Weiner Mobile was there too.
